Senior 5 : A-LEVEL TRANSITION CLASS

Senior 5 begins Uganda's A-Level programme and replaces broad O-Level coverage with specialised, detailed study. Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology require longer reasoning, more precise theory, advanced calculations, and careful practical work. A strong first year gives students the knowledge and independence needed for Senior 6 and UACE.

Senior 5 A-Level study plan for depth and independent learning

What to expect: A-Level lessons cover fewer areas at once but examine each one in far greater depth. Students must follow extended arguments, connect theory to practical evidence, complete calculations with precision, and study independently between lessons. Because many Senior 6 topics assume confident Senior 5 knowledge, postponing difficult work creates pressure later.

How to plan: build a timetable around your subject combination and rotate theory review, worked examples, independent questions, and practical preparation. Reduce each difficult lesson to a concise summary, learn essential definitions exactly, and repeat calculations until the logic—not only the final answer—is clear. End every month with a cumulative test that brings older topics back into active use.
