Senior 1 : FOUNDATION CLASS
Senior 1 is the first step into Uganda's lower-secondary science curriculum. Students begin studying Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as distinct subjects while learning unfamiliar terminology, laboratory routines, measurements, diagrams, and calculations. The goal is to build accurate basics and dependable study habits for the years ahead.

Senior 1 study plan for a strong secondary-school foundation
What to expect: lessons move faster than they did in primary school, and teachers expect students to organise notes, follow scientific procedures, and explain ideas using the correct terms. Early topics may look simple, but units, symbols, definitions, graph skills, and basic calculations become building blocks for later Senior 1 work.
How to plan: use short study sessions after each lesson to rewrite the main idea in your own words. Build a personal glossary, label diagrams from memory, and solve one example without copying the method. At the weekend, review the week's Mathematics and science notes, answer a small set of questions, and take any unresolved confusion to your teacher.
