Program Introduction
Move beyond JavaScript syntax and learn to organise, reason about and test larger programs. This four-week intermediate JavaScript course is designed for learners in Uganda, East Africa and across Africa who already understand variables, functions, arrays and objects but want to write cleaner, more reusable and more reliable code.
The program focuses on the concepts that create the biggest improvement in real programming ability: closures, higher-order functions, object behaviour, prototypes, classes, modules, asynchronous JavaScript, iterables, testing and refactoring. Every task stays within the JavaScript language; no website or framework is required.

Before you enroll
- Completion of JavaScript Programming for Beginners in Uganda & Africa, or equivalent knowledge.
- Ability to write functions that accept parameters and return results.
- Working knowledge of conditions, loops, strings, arrays and plain objects.
- Ability to use `map`, `filter`, `find`, destructuring and ES modules in small programs.
- Ability to run a JavaScript file, read a basic stack trace and correct common errors.
- Pass the Ellipkom intermediate entry challenge or submit one working beginner JavaScript project.

- Visual Studio Code or another editor with debugging support
- Terminal included with the operating system
- Node.js built-in test runner for automated checks
- Git is recommended for saving project versions, but no Git hosting account is required
