- No previous programming experience is required.
- Basic ability to use a computer, manage files and install software.
- Basic English reading skills for following code examples and Go documentation.
- Access to a Windows, macOS or Linux computer.
- Willingness to practise by typing, running and correcting code.
What you need
- A laptop or desktop computer running Windows, macOS or Linux.
- The current stable Go toolchain from `go.dev`.
- Visual Studio Code with the official Go extension, or another plain-text code editor.
- A terminal such as PowerShell, Windows Terminal, Terminal or a Linux shell.
- Git for saving versions of practice projects; a GitHub account is helpful but optional.
- The offline Go documentation included with the installed toolchain.
